The Black Star
A soul gem that is never used up and holds black souls, those of people, as well as white ones.
Where to get it
Finish The Black Star by taking the broken star to Nelacar at the Frozen Hearth in Winterhold.
Found in Shrine of Azura.
Good to know
A playthrough gets this or Azura's Star, never both. Most enchanters prefer this one, since people always carry a grand soul.
Quests
- The Black Star: Speak to Aranea Ienith at the Shrine of Azura, on the mountain south of Winterhold. Asking about elven mages at the inn in Winterhold leads to the same quest. Reward: Azura's Star from Aranea, or The Black Star from Nelacar.
