Lost to the Ages
The ghost of Katria leads you through Arkngthamz to the first of four Aetherium Shards. The others lie at Deep Folk Crossing, in Raldbthar and in a storeroom outside Mzulft. Together they open the Ruins of Bthalft in the Rift and the Aetherium Forge beneath.

How to start
Read the book The Aetherium Wars, walk into Arkngthamz in the far south of the Reach, or pick up any Aetherium Shard.
Good to know
The forge has Aetherium for one item only, so the other two can never be made by the same character. Katria's bow Zephyr lies on a fallen tree over the chasm in Arkngthamz.
