How to start
Pick how your story begins in the opening room. The Dragonborn option starts at Helgen as usual; any other choice leaves Helgen standing until you decide to start the main quest by renting a room at the inn there.
Objectives
- Choose a starting option in the opening room.
- When ready for the main story, rent a room at the inn in Helgen and choose to begin it.
- Reach the keep in the chaos of the attack.
- Get inside the keep with Hadvar or Ralof.
- Find equipment, including what Gunjar was carrying.
- Optionally, search the barrel for potions and pick the lock of the cage.
- Optionally, take back your own gear.
- Escape from Helgen.
